On This Page
Witchly Elite is the paid tier for users who want dedicated hardware, guaranteed resources, and no coin-based renewal. Elite servers run on separate high-performance nodes and are billed monthly through Stripe. This guide covers everything you need to know about Elite.
What Makes Elite Different?
Elite servers differ from free-tier servers in several key ways:
| Feature | Free Tier | Elite Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware | Shared node | Dedicated Elite node |
| Resources | From your pool (shared) | Fixed per plan (guaranteed) |
| Renewal | Coins (500/week) | Stripe subscription (monthly) |
| Server slots | 1-2 (from pool) | Unlimited (one per subscription) |
| Backups | Limited (default: 1) | More per plan |
| Databases | Limited (default: 1) | More per plan |
| Grace period | 24 hours | 72 hours |
| Resource pool | Uses your pool | Independent |
The main advantages are no coin grinding, dedicated hardware with no over-allocation, higher resource allowances, and more backup and database slots.
How to Deploy an Elite Server
Deploying an Elite server is a 4-step wizard:
Step 1: Choose Server Type
Select the server software you want to run. The available options depend on the game — for Minecraft, this might include Paper, Vanilla, Fabric, Forge, and more.
Step 2: Choose a Plan
Select from the available plans for your game. Each plan has fixed resources and a monthly price. Plans display:
- Plan name (e.g., Starter, Pro, Enterprise).
- Monthly price in USD.
- RAM allocation.
- CPU allocation (some plans offer unlimited CPU).
- Disk space.
- Database slots.
- Backup slots.
Plans marked as “Best Seller” are highlighted. Plans are managed by the Witchly team and may vary by game.
Step 3: Name Your Server
Choose a name for your server (3-32 characters, alphanumeric with spaces, dashes, and underscores). If multiple server locations are available for your game, you can also select your preferred location.
Step 4: Review and Checkout
Review your selections including the game, plan, server name, and all resource allocations. This is also where you can apply a promo code (see below). When ready, click “Proceed to Checkout” to be redirected to Stripe’s secure payment page.
After Payment
Once your payment is processed:
- Your server is automatically provisioned on the Elite hardware node.
- You are redirected back to the dashboard.
- Your server appears in your servers list with an “Elite” badge.
- A Discord role is granted to your account for Elite status.
- You can manage your server immediately.
Promo Codes
Witchly occasionally offers promo codes for Elite subscriptions. These are Stripe-based discount codes that can reduce your subscription price.
How to Apply a Promo Code
- During the Elite deployment wizard, reach Step 4 (Review and Checkout).
- Enter your promo code in the “Promo Code” field.
- Click “Apply” to validate the code.
- If valid, you will see the discount details (e.g., “25% off first month” or “10% off forever”).
- The discount is applied automatically when you proceed to Stripe checkout.
Promo Code Types
- Percentage off first month: Reduces your first payment only.
- Percentage off forever: Applies the discount to every billing cycle for the life of the subscription.
- Percentage off for a duration: Applies the discount for a set number of days.
Code Restrictions
Some promo codes may be restricted to specific plans or have a maximum number of uses. If a code is invalid or expired, the system will tell you with an error message.
Billing and Subscriptions
Elite subscriptions are managed through Stripe, a trusted global payment processor. Your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and never stored on Witchly servers.
Billing Cycle
- Subscriptions are billed monthly on the same day each month.
- You receive a Discord DM reminder approximately 24 hours before your next billing date.
- Invoices are available through the Stripe billing portal.
Payment Methods
Stripe supports credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods depending on your region. You can update your payment method at any time through the billing portal.
Accessing the Billing Portal
From the dashboard, you can access the Stripe Billing Portal to:
- View and download invoices.
- Update your payment method.
- View your subscription details.
Managing Your Subscription
Plan Upgrades
You can upgrade your Elite server to a higher plan at any time:
- The upgrade takes effect immediately.
- You are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing cycle.
- Your server resources are updated to match the new plan.
Plan Downgrades
You can downgrade to a lower plan:
- The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
- You continue to use your current plan’s resources until then.
- No refund is issued for the current cycle.
Cancellation
To cancel your Elite subscription:
- Go to your server’s management page.
- Use the cancellation option.
- Your subscription enters a “cancel at period end” state.
- Your server remains fully active and accessible until the end of your current billing period.
- After the billing period ends, the server is suspended.
- You have a 72-hour grace period after suspension to resume your subscription.
- After the grace period, the server is permanently deleted.
Resuming a Cancelled Subscription
If you cancelled but change your mind before the billing period ends, you can resume the subscription. This removes the pending cancellation and your server continues as normal with no interruption.
Payment Failures
If a subscription payment fails (e.g., expired card):
- Stripe will retry the payment according to its retry schedule.
- Your server remains active during the initial retry period.
- If payment continues to fail, the server will be suspended.
- You have a 72-hour grace period to update your payment method.
- After the grace period, the server is permanently deleted.
Update your payment method in the Stripe billing portal to resolve payment failures.
Elite and Free Tier Together
You can run both free and Elite servers at the same time:
- Free servers use your resource pool as normal.
- Elite servers are entirely separate — they do not consume pool resources.
- Earning coins, the store, daily rituals, and all free-tier features continue to work alongside your Elite subscription.
- If you cancel your Elite plan, your free servers are unaffected.
Referral Bonus
If someone you referred to Witchly purchases an Elite subscription, you receive a 500-coin bonus as a thank-you. This is in addition to the standard 500-coin referral reward both parties receive on signup.
