Connecting to Your Server

How to find your server address and connect from Minecraft, Rust, Palworld, and other game clients.

Finding Your Server Address

Every Witchly.host server has a unique IP address and port number. You can find these in your control panel at Dashboard.

  1. Log in to the panel and select your server
  2. Look at the top of the page for the Address field — it will show something like game1.witchly.host:25565
  3. The part before the colon is your IP address (or hostname), and the number after is your port

Connecting from Minecraft

  1. Open Minecraft and click Multiplayer
  2. Click Add Server
  3. Enter any name you like in the Server Name field
  4. Paste your full server address (IP:port) in the Server Address field
  5. Click Done, then double-click the server to connect

For Minecraft Bedrock Edition, go to Servers > Add Server and enter the IP and port in separate fields.

Important: Make sure your Minecraft client version matches the version running on your server. You can check (and change) your server version in the panel under startup settings.

Connecting from Rust

  1. Open Rust and press F1 to open the console
  2. Type client.connect YOUR_IP:YOUR_PORT and press Enter
  3. Alternatively, find your server in the Community or Modded server browser by searching for your server name

Connecting from Palworld

  1. Open Palworld and select Join Multiplayer Game
  2. At the bottom of the server browser, find the Connect input field
  3. Enter your server address in the format YOUR_IP:YOUR_PORT
  4. Click Connect to join

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

If you cannot connect to your server, try these steps:

  • Check if the server is running — Log in to the panel and verify the server status shows “Running”
  • Verify the address — Double-check that you copied the full IP and port correctly, including the port number
  • Check your game version — Ensure your game client version matches the server version
  • Firewall issues — Some networks block gaming ports. Try connecting from a different network or ask your network administrator
  • Wait after startup — Some servers (especially modded ones) take a few minutes to fully start. Watch the console for a “Done” or “Server started” message

If none of these resolve your issue, open a support ticket on our Discord and include your server ID and the error message you see.
