Getting Started with Hytale on Witchly.host

Hytale is a next-generation sandbox game from Hypixel Studios, the creators behind one of the most popular Minecraft multiplayer servers in history. Combining deep world generation, extensive modding capabilities, and a powerful creative toolset, Hytale represents a new era in sandbox gaming. Witchly.host provides optimized Hytale server hosting so you can focus on building your community.

Choosing the Right Plan

Witchly.host offers three Hytale hosting plans to suit different community sizes and needs:

  • The Scout (4 GB RAM) — Ideal for small groups of friends or private servers with a handful of players. Great for exploring and testing server setups.
  • The Explorer (8 GB RAM) — Our best seller. Perfect for growing communities with moderate player counts and custom content. Provides a solid balance of performance and capacity.
  • The Creator (16 GB RAM) — Built for large communities, heavy modding, and content creation. Maximum resources for the most demanding server configurations.

Deploying Your Server

Setting up your Hytale server takes just a few minutes:

  1. Log in to your dashboard at Dashboard
  2. Click Create Server and select Hytale as your game
  3. Choose your preferred plan (The Scout, The Explorer, or The Creator)
  4. Enter a name for your server — this is how it will appear in your dashboard
  5. Select your preferred server location
  6. Complete your order and wait for the server to provision

Once provisioning is complete, your server will appear in your dashboard and is ready for first-time setup.

First-Time Setup

After your server has been deployed, follow these steps to get it running:

  1. Navigate to your server in the dashboard
  2. Click Start to boot your server for the first time
  3. Watch the Console tab for startup progress — the initial launch may take a few minutes as the server generates world files
  4. Once you see a message indicating the server is ready, it is accepting connections

During the first startup, the server will generate its default configuration files and world data. You can customize these later (see our Server Configuration guide).

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Server won’t start:

  • Check the console for error messages — they usually indicate what went wrong
  • Verify that your startup configuration has not been modified incorrectly
  • Try reinstalling the server from the Settings tab if files are corrupted

Players can’t connect:

  • Confirm the server is online and running in the dashboard
  • Verify players are using the correct address and port
  • Ensure the server version matches the client version players are running

Performance issues:
